Instagram today announced two important updates to its web version. The new features include a Explore page, with trending Tags and Places, and a more improved search tool that makes it simpler to find people, places, and tags.
This update comes after Facebook moved its mobile web and search pages – including the entire web app to ReactJS earlier this year
In addition to these trending Tags and trending Places, at the top of the new Explore page you will also be able to locate a curated list of special collections; this list will feature some interesting profiles and places, from hollywood actors, musicians to stunning architecture and beautiful places. These new updates to the Explore page will only be available in the United States to start with.
However, the powerful Instagram search tool is now available for everyone. It lets you search across profiles, places and tags all at once.
Last month Instagram’s web app got a major overhaul; the entire web view is built using ReactJS. This is a major redesign since Instagram was taken over by Facebook.
